If it works, the problem is the gun, (tip, liner) and if it doesnt, the issue is somewhere else in your machine. I am going to look at a Lincoln SP 125 Plus later this afternoon and wondered if there is anything I should pay particular attention to. Does this machine have any quirks? The machine comes with a bottle, not sure of the size or if it is full or not, and the asking price $250.Rick get the sp-135 plus.Its a great little welder.With .023 stainless wire,and the right gas the little lincoln will spray arc.Thats pretty impressive performance.I just traded my little miller 130xp in on a sp-175 plus its a great little welder also.Spend the extra at the welding store,because you will get support if needed.That could make up the difference even if you bought a 135 tapped ...I was looking at purchasing my first welder for use at home and was interested in the SP135 plus. The question I have is this: I see it comes all set up to weld with solid wire and gas. The website says it can do flux core welding, which I have experience in the past.I bought a new lincoln SP-125 plus, probably 8-10 years ago, for packing upstairs on the back deck to do final installations on railings. The little guy does okay in the shop, but I quickly noticed that electricians just can't see the merit in running a #12 wire with a 20 amp breaker upstairs to the back deck of any house.It works fine with my Lincoln Innershield flux-core 0.035" diameter wire on my Lincoln SP-125 Plus welder with the standard Magnum 100L gun. Plenty of extra length--easy to cut-to-length with side cutters. A bad switch will kill both weld power and wire feed. A bad switch will also prevent power from getting to the rectifier.
